INFORMATION
Sean Alexander Fisher is an engineer wearing pataphysical goggles.

With a background in engineering and having previously studied at The Glasgow School of Art and Design Academy Eindhoven his practice blends mechanical engineering and pataphysics. His fascination with metamorphosis and transformation is evident as he turns a critical eye towards humanity's use of the planet's finite resources. Through his sculptures, Fisher, emphasises and responds to the absurd relationship society has with fringe engineering cultures. Furthermore, he explores the interrelations between ecology, economics, communities, and time.

Fisher also works as a photographer and writer, his work can be seen here

All I want is a Tarai-Buné

‘All I want is a Tarai-Buné’ is a series of investigations into the environmental concerns regarding the Tarai-Buné.

Firstly the film questions the bath tub thats a boat, asking questions from an engineer's point of view like ‘how does a flat-bottomed boat propel itself?’ What knowledge you should have before you start making your own, and if you can make your own, should you?

A second film questions knowledge supply chains, how information is passed through different educational systems and if we should in the west should adopt these Eastern apprenticeships.

The final piece from the project resulted in a triptych of images showing the application of fibreglass to a tree. Accompanied by myself doing a
poetry reading.

Moving a barrel is easy
Becoming weightless
Carried or Rolled
Relieving laden mothers
The equilibrium shifts
The Tarai-Buné goes

Modernity Intercepts

Nothing flows
The coating is a barrier
Stifling the interaction
Between people
And water
